Loratadine - New Zealand generic 100x10mg tablets available as Loraclear
Loraclear non-sedating hayfever tablets (a generic version of Claritin)
Anti-allergy tablets to relieve symptoms of hayfever, including sneezing, itching, nasal discharge, watery eyes, itching eyes and burning of the eyes.
Active Ingredient: loratadine 10mg.
Classification: Pharmacy Only Medicine.
Purpose/Usage: Loraclear belong to a class of medicines known as antihistamines. Loraclear contain the same active ingredient as Claritin - loratidine. Antihistamines help reduce allergic symptoms by preventing the effects of a substance called histamine, which is produced by the body. Loraclear relieve symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis (hay fever), such as sneezing, runny or itchy nose, and burning or itchy eyes. Loraclear may also be used to relieve symptoms associated with a skin condition called urticaria; these symptoms include itching, redness and lumps on the skin called hives. There is no evidence that loratadine is addictive.
Dosage: Adults and children over 12 years: One tablet daily. Children 2-12 years over 30kg: One tablet daily. Children 2-12 years under 30kg: Half a tablet daily.
Warnings: Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Safety in children under 2 years of age or during pregnancy or lactation has not been established. Rare occurrence of headaches, stomach upset, drowsiness, and dry mouth. Although this medicine is unlikely to affect the ability to drive or operate machinery, care should be taken and if any drowsiness occurs then avoid driving and operating machinery.
