Nicorette 15mg Patches 21 patches (3 packs of 7)
Nicorette Patches - a discreet way of reducing unpleasant nicotine withdrawal symptoms
Nicorette patches are discreet to use and help smokers give up smoking by reducing the unpleasant nicotine withdrawal effects that are normally experienced when stopping smoking.
Active Ingredient: nicotine 15mg/16 hours per patch.
Classification: Pharmacy Only Medicine.
Purpose/Usage: Nicorette patches deliver a low dose of nicotine to reduce some of the unpleasant effects experienced when you stop smoking. Nicorette patches discreetly control your cravings by giving you a continued effect throughout the day. Patches are very easy to use. You simply put one on in the morning and take it off at bedtime. That way you get a constant low dose of nicotine delivered over approximately 16 hours while you are awake and need it. The patch is not intended to be worn while you are sleeping.
Dosage: The patches are available in three strengths: 15mg, 10mg and 5mg. You should start using the high dose patch (15mg) first, then after six weeks gradually reduce your intake by swapping to the middle dose patch (10mg). The middle dose patch should be used for a further two weeks after which time you should progress down to the low dose (5mg). Once you have been using the low dose for two weeks you should be able to stop using the patches completely.
Directions: When applying the patch, choose an area of skin and make sure it is clean and dry. Any area of the body could be used, but hairless skin is best to stick the patch on for example: the upper thigh, hip, the upper arm or on the chest. The patch should be placed on a different part of the body each day. This will help reduce skin irritation. If you apply the patch correctly, you can shower, bathe or swim without worrying about it coming off.
Warnings: Not suitable for children. Do not use if; * You are pregnant or intend to become pregnant. * You are breast feeding. * You have had a recent heart attack or stroke. * You have heart disease or palpitations or angina. * You are a non-smoker. * You are under 18 years old. * You are allergic to nicotine. * You may be sensitive to the patch adhesive. All forms of nicotine should be avoided during pregnancy. Patients with gastritis, peptic ulcer, angina or who have had coronary heart disease should discuss the use of Nicorette patches with their physician. Keep out of reach of children.
